A Cautionary Tale in Thinking Everyone Working on Your Project Should Care As Much as You…
Overnight, a documentary about the director of The Boondock Saints, is a wonderful cautionary tale about humility and checking your ego as an artist. It’s a common thing within the creative space to have artists push everyone around them. The notion being that in order to create great art, everyone should care about the artist’s baby as much as the artist. First off, this is simply never going to happen. Second, the ends don’t need to justify the means. There is a more sustainable path to great art and more importantly longevity and it’s through humility and patience. These are the ideas I explore so you don’t become another entertainment industry cautionary tale. So listen and afterwards, please feel free to ask questions or offer opinions of your own, whether down in the comment section or by hitting me up on social media @PhilSvitek.
