Define the Scope of Work Required of Both Parties on Creative Projects…
Contracts for creatives may have a negative connotation. They may seem too formal, slow down the process and be antithetical to creativity itself. But they’re important on any creative project you work on, even ones with friends who are doing it as a passion project. Have a scope of work, a deal memo, term sheet, etc allows a level of comfort for everyone so they know what’s required of them and what’s not. It allows each personal to be a professional in their area of expertise. These are just some of the benefits. I highlight more in this episode as well as how to go about structuring these.
