Expert Culture and Why Even Well Intentioned Advice May Not Be Right for You…

There’s a big self improvement movement, and certainly I’m a part of it in some small way. But that also introduces the notion that there’s something to improve and more so that we should. This is not always the case. For example, many books will claim to “fix your life?” Maybe up until reading that phrase you didn’t think your life needed fixing. Instead, it introduced a problem that didn’t exist. Also important is to ask who you’re taking advice from. Nowadays, I see so many so-called experts who have no actual background in what they’re teaching. But really, in the end, it comes down to does whatever advice someone gives you help your life or not? These are thing ideas I explore in this episode, so please join me, won’t you? After listening, kindly feel free to ask questions or offer opinions of your own, whether down in the comment section or by hitting me up on social media @PhilSvitek.
