How “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” Warns of the Dangers of Extreme “Maximizing” (Spoilers)…

As the BBC writes (https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20210329-do-maximisers-or-satisficers-make-better-decisions), “people tend to lean toward one of two categories: ‘maximisers’, who want to ensure they get the most out of the choices they make; and ‘satisficers’, who tend to adopt a ‘this is good enough’ approach.” With James Gunn’s latest Marvel film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, he presents an interesting warning about the dangers of extreme “maximizing.” And that’s what I explore in this spoiler episode, discussing the actions of the High Evolutionary and what cautions we should reflect upon in our own lives.
