One of Phil’s biggest passions has always been story-telling. And while he loves the visual medium first and foremost, he also enjoys the power of the written word and the ability it has to transcend its readers into a whole imagined world. For years, Phil’s had ideas he’s wanted to share with audiences. During those years he’d imagined these ideas as films. But in 2018, understanding better than most how hard making a film, let alone an indie film, can be, he decided to start writing these stories in novel form. Perhaps the reason it’s taken Phil so long to realize that notion and begin is that he was intimidated by the thought of writing so many words. Now, he simply enjoys the act of writing. Currently, Phil is completing his first book called Elan, Elan which is a coming-of-age story inspired by his upbringing in Slovakia. After that, he plans on writing another coming-of-age story about three friends in high school trying to make a movie and then he’ll follow that up with a fantasy love story, expanding upon some of the concepts from his short film Eternity, which can be seen above or on Phil’s YouTube channel. Somewhere during all this, he plans to recompile his teachings into a non-fiction self-help book.
