Reflections on the Cancel Culture & My Fears Around It (7/3/2020)…

Right now I see a lot of people being called out for things they’ve done in the past. I think rightfully so. And some of the things certain people are being called out for are truly insidious and they deserve to be so-called canceled. However, there’s a good sector of people that I feel could change and grow but we’re too quick to dismiss them. I understand what they did was wrong but at the same time, to turn the tide of social justices we need to build allies. To do that, we need to educate people. If we don’t I fear people will not be willing to put themselves out there in public roles in politics and entertainment because it just won’t be worth it. This is the basis of my argument in this episode as I offer up my two cents.
