Studying Anime, Script Revisions, and Human Optimization – 4/24/2023: A Phil Svitek Vlog…

I’ve made some excellent progress with my latest film project, The Arbiters. It’s in development and I’ve been working on the script. About halfway through the first draft, I decided to go back and polish what I had so far thanks to notes I’d written along the way for myself. That, and my collaborate and I met. He gave me excellent notes, which reinforced that what I had written only needed polishing, not a page one rewrite. That felt good. Also what helped me was studying all of Makoto Shinkai’s early filmography—movies such as Children Who Chase Lost voices, 5 Centimeters Per Second, and The Place Promised in Our Early Days). I also talk about work I’ve been doing with the Financially Fit Foundation, a non-profit organization that I’m a part of. Outside of the creative stuff, I discuss how we all need to own 100% of 100% of every relationship we have because WE CREATE every relationship in our lives, with lovers, friends, family, coworkers, strangers, etc. I talk about my love for the Summer Movie Wager (http://summermoviewager.com). Lastly, I talk about my thoughts on human optimization and why I’ve personally slowed down on reading self help books.
