Podcasts are evolving, or at least what we perceive as podcasts even though many “podcasts” don’t fall into the technical definition. Either way, as consumers adopt the term beyond the true meaning, so too are content creators trying to meet those demands. This has lead to a rise in “video podcasts.” Many people strive to publish both audio and video podcasts. However, they think it’s as simple as publishing the same thing across all platforms. Don’t get me wrong, that is an option, but it has drawbacks. And that’s why I try to present here—the nuances and differences between audio and video podcasts.
