I'm extremely honored to be a part of #EmersonCollege's soccer recruitment video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS6XIVt5txU&t=3s - I had an absolute blast getting to do a sport I loved with people who not only became #family to me but also had the same interests as me. What was so cool is that everyone on the team was #creative - a #filmmaker, #musician, #marketer, etc. That bond made us close on and off the field. I am happy to have been a part of the program for all four years. In fact, during my freshman year, it was my teammates and coaches who guided me after the lose of my dad. If I didn’t have them… well, I don’t know the alternative because I did have them. They all cared and they cared deeply. It was this story that I shared when I visited #Boston in August #2018 with the current team. Whether or not my specific message resonated, I’m proud to see the growth of the program year to year. If you’re a #highschool #student with dreams of being in the entertainment industry but also happen to love soccer, #emerson is the place for you.An inside look into the Emerson College Men's Soccer Program! ... There are two fundamental choices each of us gets to make in our daily lives - to either create or destroy. Phil Svitek showcases the power you gain when you decide to operate from a place of creativity rather than destruction - it’s precisely why it is one of his new year’s resolutions. He provides examples from various thinkers, such as Barack Obama, Steven Pinker, Charles Bukowski, Marisa Peer and so on, to highlight everyday examples of the impact of this single choice and argues that when you approach both your artistic ventures and life in general from this perspective, you can accomplish anything. Furthermore, he points to the source of this which is our words, whether used against others or ourselves. Join Phil and see how you can elevate your life. I've been meaning to see Vice and today I have. It's a very powerful movie. I'm not sure how truthful it actually is but it certainly makes you question - and that's a good thing. It reveals a lot about human nature (again, regardless of how honest the work is). Apart from its message, I truly appreciate the filmmaking style McKay brings to the movie. He's so inventive unlike anyone else I've seen. I believe other filmmakers would be to scared to make those same choices because others might say, but he only uses that trick in one scene and then it goes away. That's what I love about him, he uses whatever technique he needs to in order to convey the point of every scene. Even if it feels disjointed. And yet, because the whole movie is as such, it feels NOT disjointed. Absolutely wonderful and something I aspire to bring to my work.

It’s a brand new year and many of us have made new year’s resolutions in order to accomplish what we want. But what about our finances? Have you thought about those? Budgeting is the first step to financial freedom and in this lesson Phil Svitek highlights the methods that Financially Fit Foundation’s Chelsea Galicia used to teach Phil about his wealth management. It may seem like a scary or intimidating subject, but as creatives it is ultra important that we are aware of our spending - otherwise how else will we achieve our dreams? The steps given are easy and practical, designed to get you started. You won’t be where you ultimately want to end up, but you can’t get there without doing this first. Also, as a bonus, Phil is reposting past interviews that pertain to finances on the audio podcast this week. Be sure to check those out as well for more info. Comment below with questions or ideas.

In honor of #FreeSolo, a fantastic documentary about the human spirit personified through rock climber Alex Honnold who attempts to solo El Captain in Yosemite, here's some pictures of me climbing years ago. I added some of Alex from the movie so you could compare the two. I'm ready to take on a 3000 ft wall, right? Maybe next year. But as for you, don't wait to see this film. Whether you love climbing, documentaries or just great stories in general, check it out. This week, right now, it's playing in IMAX theatres in select cities. To find out more info, visit: www.nationalgeographic.com/films/free-solo/screenings/

PS: I had a chance to see it last night with my mom and unbeknownst to us beforehand, the filmmakers were doing a Q&A after the movie. Needless to say, we stayed and enjoyed the session and learned a lot. Such passion went into making this piece of work. Congrats to all who were a part of it.

This weekend I met with a lot of hosts during the AfterBuzz TV summit. What was supposed to be a simple means of directing them to which shows they should take advantage at the networks turned into something more. Many felt they weren't doing enough or weren't where they were supposed to be yet - as happens when you're around highly ambitious people. And so I started to help guide them on finding their purpose, which they saw was actually far easier than they thought. As such, I've conducted my latest lesson around the notion of finding your purpose in hopes that it benefits more people. So here's my latest episode: youtu.be/ddGCZAQ3p_gThis weekend Phil Svitek met with a lot of hosts during the AfterBuzz TV annual end of year summit.
